The not so new product on the market from Kangertech is the dripbox aka a squonk box. These are few and far between and seem to be the marmite of the industry, as most people using a dripper will do so for the customization and capability to switch flavor’s on a dime. Also these are sometimes misunderstood and are seen to be a niche because of their design.
The kangertech Dripbox is available in three colors which seem to be Kangertechs team colors of red, white and black all come with a matching color coded bottom fill RDA/SUBDRIP and tinted 7ml rubber bottle which is a nice touch but can get fiddly when trying to see how much juice is left (I hold up to a light).
The 60w box holds a single 18650 battery and has side logo for venting, a nice feature as it matches the rest of the Kangertech range. Lowest coil resistance is 0.2ohms which is quite generous for a diddy box of just under 8cm tall 2cm wide.
The dripSub has a two post design, with the base itself being removable to reveal the gold 510 pin which has a hole in by design for bottom filling (bit odd when you first see). The design is really impressive as it looks really clean considering the juice feeds through the a needle in the bottle through the 510 and distributed evenly between several holes in the juice well. Thanks also to the airflow design standing 1cm above the base its very rare that juice will overflow out of the deck, in less you squeeze as much as possible. The deck is really easy to build on, I would say similar to a tugboat RDA with the post design but close to the center like a samurai (search if unknown).
HOW IT WORKS?
Okay so the 7ml tank that slides in the bottom goes into a small needle with a stopper tip and feeder on. Once the bottle is compressed with a small squeeze it feeds the juice up the tube, this then goes through a hole in the 510 pin into the RDA and underneath the decks distributes the juice to the juice well via several pinholes. This then wicks the cotton, ready to be fired.
All together the price point of this is very appealing for an entire “kit” with prices ranging from £30+ making it the same bracket of the kbox70 on its own or the kbox mini kit with tank.
I love this, like really love this mod. It does everything I could not want anything more out of a daily vape. I have migrated to this from my Sub tank and Kbox70, which although it had a better battery due to its 4000mah having a dripper and a tank to feed it just overrules massively. Unlike most daily vapes that utilize a subtank try and kill you with every dry hit, thanks to this being a RDA it just don’t happen. Flavor wise is all dependent on what you use for your coils, cotton and juice thanks to the standard 60w box it just takes time to get used to what works and also takes time to remember that you have to squeeze the tank to wet the wick but the dry hits aren’t stupid hard.
Good size Single 18650
7ml tank can sometimes be hard to get that last drop in the bottle
Good RDA deck Very simple RDA design
Nice air flow Air flow is really high, which can cause some people an issue
Overall, this think works well does what it needs to, doesn’t leak, doesn’t eat batteries and tastes great. I cant imagine anyone swapping there DNA200 or home built mech box for it but for anyone looking for something a bit different that can last the day easy give it a go.
That’s me singing off as always these are personal opinions and not a representative of the maker. GO TRY IT YO SELF FOOL
